Smart Cycle is a project I worked on in my final year of university where I created services and prototypes to help determine recycling habits. The main service was creating an extension for Amazon’s Alexa. This worked by placing unique codes on packaging to then ask Alexa whether the product could be recycled.

The purpose of this project is to better our planet. As a result, I researched into how to also carefully create an eco-brand by understanding how design can contribute to our climate crisis by our choice of materials and design aesthetic. The results of this research allowed me to determine the best colour palettes in to minimise the amount of ink and water that would be consumed when printed and the best colours to be used digitally to save energy.
