Portrait-2

Hello

I’m Imogen Barber, a professional Graphic Designer with a creative mindset, supported with a strong work ethic, and organisational skills. Since 2018, I have successfully taken on diverse roles and projects, consistently meeting high standards from initial concept to final delivery. I thrive in fast-paced environments, where I seek enhancing opportunities to expand my knowledge and skills in design. Based in Watford, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom.

Experience

I have been fortunate to have worked in the Graphic Design industry for over 6 years now. I began working part-time as a junior designer in 2018 alongside my studies for university. Following my graduation, I began working in full time and since then have worked in two agencies. As well as having experience with agency environments, I have produced freelance work for my own clients.

Education

I graduated from University of Westminster in 2020 in Graphic Communication Design with a First Class Honours. Before studying for my degree, I attended West Herts College, where I was awarded in 2017 with a Distinction in UAL Diploma in Foundation Studies (Art and Design). Alongside these achievements, I have three A-Levels and nine GCSEs.

Acteon Communication and Learning

In summer 2023, I joined Acteon, based in Cambridge working a hybrid role. Acteon works across a wide range of digital and offline formats, blending them into tailored campaigns. These campaigns can be for a range of clients from global pharmaceutical clients to household names.

My days at Acteon can cover a range of creative outputs, some of which include animation, video editing, interactive and bespoke digital resources. As well as digital based materials, I have worked across quick reference cards, branding and campaign styling.

Creative Interpartners

I started working at Creative Interpartners in August 2021. Working both in their London studio and remotely. I have gained some useful experience at CI, as I worked on a variety of client work, as well as managing certain clients and projects. I particularly enjoyed starting from concept on client briefs and bringing innovative thinking into the design process.

My work at CI included a range of opportunities, from creating pitch decks and presenting ideas to art direction on photoshoots including still life and models. One of my most enjoyable part of the job was managing client projects, relations and communications while building strong relationships.

Consider This

I worked at Consider This between August 2018 – August 2021. Working both in studio and remotely. I continue to freelance for Consider This.

Beginning my time at CTUK as an intern in the summer of my first year at university, I was offered to join the team part-time alongside my studies. I was fortunate enough to gain industry experience while learning. This allowed me to continue working full time with CTUK once I graduated in 2020.

During my 3 years at CTUK, I worked on a variety of projects and clients. These projects ranged from web designs to creating brand identities and becoming a brand guardian across all materials.

Freelance

I have created some designs as a freelancer. Some of these projects have included a recruitment Campaign for Chesham Rugby Club, posters for Student Film “Punching Down” and Web Design and Build for Jazzercise Bucks & Herts.

Due to managing my own time and clients, I am good at managing complicated briefs and translating them into workable design routines that deliver on time and accurately.
